🔥 3 Engaging Discussion Questions

1. “Can You Trust God’s Timing?”
David was anointed king while he was still a shepherd, but it took roughly 14–15 years before he actually sat on the throne. In between the promise and the fulfillment, David became a warrior, musician, fugitive, and experienced tremendous loss.
👉 What do you do when God gives you a promise or shows you your next level, but your current situation looks nothing like what He promised? How do you keep trusting God when the waiting season seems too long?

2. “What If the Reset Doesn’t Look Like What You Expected?”
God reset David several times—from shepherd to warrior, from warrior to musician, from hiding from Saul to eventually becoming king. Each season looked different, but God was preparing David for the next one.
👉 Have you ever looked at a season of your life and thought you were being delayed, only to realize later that God was actually preparing you? What did that season teach you that you needed for the next season?

3. 🔥 “Can You Still Believe in the Reset When Everything Burns Down?” — Ziklag
David had already been anointed, fought Goliath, served Saul, and survived Saul’s jealousy. Then he reached Ziklag—and everything he had was burned and taken. Yet David “encouraged himself in the LORD” and eventually recovered everything.
👉 When you’ve experienced one setback after another, how do you know when it’s time to stop mourning what was lost and start believing God for what He is about to restore? What does “encouraging yourself in the Lord” look like in real life?

🔥 A powerful follow-up question if the room gets deep:

“What if the thing you call a setback is actually part of God’s reset?”
