Trust – Letting Go, Letting God
I. What does it means to Trust God?
Trusting God means believing in His goodness, power, and love, leading to
an active, ongoing relationship where you submit your life to Him,
relinquish control, and rely on His wisdom and plans even when things are
difficult or unclear.
II. Why Shouldn’t I Be in Control?
a) Our KNOWLEDGE is limited. (Proverbs 14:12 – *There is a way that
appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.*)
b) Our PERSPECTIVE / VISION is stunted. (1 Corinthians 13:12 – *For
now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to
face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully
known.*)
c) We lack the CAPACITY. (1 Corinthians 2:9 – *However, as it is
written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no
human mind has conceived”—the things God has prepared for those
who love him.*)
d) Our COMPREHENSION is bounded. (Isaiah 55:8–9 – *“For my
thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are
my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your
thoughts.”*)
III. Before I Let Go…
a) Who is He? (Remind/Educate yourself of who God is.)
1. God is the CREATOR of all things. (Genesis 1:1–31)
2. God is the OWNER of all things. (Psalm 24:1 – *The earth is the
Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.*)
b) Who is He to Me? (Remind yourself of what God did for you in the
past. Make a decision about the place He’s going to hold in your life.)
