F.S.M. BIBLE STUDY GUIDE

◊ What is the definition of The Kingdom Of GOD?  ● The rule of GOD over his people in his creation,   established through the Messiah in the new covenant,   which is now present in the world, though it is awaiting its   fulfillment at the second coming of Christ ● The already but not yet

◊ 19 lessons that we can learn from Jesus’ parables about the kingdom of GOD:  ● The kingdom of GOD is much more valuable than anything   that we own here on earth (the hidden treasure/ Mat.13:44).

  • GOD gave up everything that he had in order to rescue

and redeem us, to bring us into his kingdom (the pearl of great price/ Mat.13:45-46).

  • Everyone is welcome, but some will choose to turn away

          or reject GOD’S invitation (the net/ Mat.13:47-50)

  • The elements of GOD’s kingdom are both new and old (the household treasures/ Mat.13:51-52).
  • GOD wants us to try new things (the household treasures/ Mat.13:51-52).
  • The kingdom of GOD starts small, but it grows into the

largest of garden plants. It is a place where we are     welcomed in and a place we can call home (the mustard seed/ Mat.13:31-32).

  • Great things can come from small beginnings (the parable of the mustard seed/ Mat.13:31-32).
  • GOD’s kingdom changes us, and changes the world around

          us (the yeast/ Mat.13:33).

  • GOD will cause the growth. We need to show up, show the

love of God to the world, and leave the results to GOD (the growing seed/Mark 4:26-29).

  • The kingdom of GOD is like a party (the great banquet/Luke 14:15-24).
  • The kingdom of GOD stretches us, and compels us to love

even those who we are not naturally inclined to love (the great banquet/ Luke 14:15-24).

  • When we place other things above GOD, even things that

seem good, we lose out on the kingdom (the great banquet/ Luke 14:15-24).

  • We can be left out of the kingdom because we were too

busy doing other things (the ten virgins/ Mat. 25:1-13).

  • GOD entrusts his wealth to us (the five talents/ Mat. 25:14-30).
  • GOD wants us to invest in his kingdom (the five talents/ Mat. 25:14-30).
  • GOD wants us to take risks (the five talents/ Mat. 25:14-30).
  • GOD has forgiven all of our debts and wrongdoing and that

we can only inherit the kingdom of GOD if we similarly

forgive others (the unmerciful servant/ Mat.18:21-35).

  • All are welcome in the kingdom of GOD, and all receive the

same reward, regardless of when they “join” (the workers in the vineyard/ Mat.20:1-16).

  • GOD is generous, and that we do not earn the kingdom of

heaven; it is a free gift given to us (the workers in the vineyard/ Mat.20:1-16).

◊ What Are some Key aspects of The Kingdom of GOD? ● GOD’S Rule:

  • Present Reality/It’s at hand
  • Future Fulfillment:
  • Within You/It’s among you
