“Man after God’s own heart”

Sought by God (1 Samuel 13:13-14) (Acts 13: 22-23)
Praying and fasting constantly (2 Samuel 7: 18-29) (2 Samuel 21: 1)

Honored by God as an essential ancestor in the plan
